Grow your business and stay young

I have 2 boys; 11 and 9, They are awesome. My wife showed me some photos from our first school carnival. I made a lekker potjie that day; part of what we had to do as parents for the carnival.

These kids grow up SO quickly. All this growing made me think about getting older. I really want to be there when they have kids.

For me to be there, when they have kids, I need to do some important stuff today. Yes, it includes being active, staying healthy and eating right.

But there is more to that. Staying young also means keeping your mind young.

How? Play challenging card games. Read books. Get your daily sudoku fix. Keep growing your mind and you will stay young.

Business is much the same. Keeping young in the business world today means growing more. Learning daily.

You cannot keep on doing what you did in the past expecting different results! You need to evolve. Discover. Improve.

It does not mean to being everywhere, using every marketing channel there is; there are TOO many … especially social media platforms! No. It means finding the right thing for you. Something that works great.

When that works, you transition to the next phase. Focusing on growth levers. When your transition is solid, you start pushing growth.

This learning thing is supported by data. You need to make decisions based on data.

No data. No decision. Simple.

Recently I had a case where there was just not enough information to make a decision. That went on the back-burner. Not important, not urgent.
