3 steps to get your business website working

It is very exciting when you are planning to get your first website or updating your business website. Getting it right is extremely important.

For this reason, there are a couple of questions you need to answer:

  1. Who is your ideal client?
  2. How will your ideal client find you?
  3. How will you convert visitors to sales from your website?

These questions might seem obvious, and that every knows the answer, but you will be surprised to find not many do! Let us dig deeper into each question.

1) Who is your ideal client?

Think about who your ideal client is? Can you paint a picture of your ideal client? What do they like? Where are they based? How old are they? What are their interests? What are their pains?

Having a clear picture of your ideal clients helps you offer products and services that are right for them.

2) How will your ideal client find you?

Having a specific service or product helps a lot. But; if they cannot find you, they cannot buy from you.

You need to know how you will reach your ideal client. This can be social media, search engines, paid marketing, email marketing, etc.

For search engines you must have keywords on your website. This will be words people are searching for. Some keywords you can get a lot of traffic from. Some are very competitive. This means there are already a lot of websites for a specific keyword.

It is important to market your website using all the tools available to you. Some are free, some you need to invest time and money.

3) How will you convert visitors to sales?

Great, you have traffic to your website. It does not mean you will get sales.

This must also be engineered or developed. Think about offers you can make, getting people onto your database.

Give people reasons to contact you. If you don’t they will not contact you.
